Japanese designers Yuri Suzuki and Masa Kimura took key roles in the building and the designing of the Breakfast Machine created for Platform21’s final project, Platform21 = Jamming. Bringing to life the classic Rube Goldberg breakfast machine found in the 1980′s film, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, the team over at Platform21 decided to create a real [...]

These black, white and red all-over pieces come from American mixed medial artist, Trenton Doyle Hancock. Creating abstract and semi-psychedelic work, Trenton makes it a point to assure that each of his pieces are just as detailed, intricate and as full of surprises as his last. Have a look at more of his impressive work, [...]

Photographer Ana Cabaleiro hits the nail on the head with her style and approach to photography. Repeatedly framing her subjects in the bottom third of the frame, Ana makes sure that there’s always an overwhelming presence of mother nature within her work. She sticks strictly – say that three times fast – to shooting analogue, [...]

London-based photographer and Internet Forever member Craig Nunn seems to agree with the age-old ideology of no technology ever being able to replace the look and feel of film photography. Shooting an impressive mélange of subjects from people, to buildings, to random oddities, Craigs images always find a way to surprise and excite! Have a [...]

Eric Zeneris an American painter and mixed medial artist who fancies the use of water within his work. Creating an overload of astonishingly detailed work, Eric takes the admirable challenge of realistically creating both the human figure while simultaneously submerging and/or surrounding them in bodies of bubble-filled dihydrogen monoxide – a feat not all artists [...]

There are so many things that are right with Kevin Trageser‘s photography. The use of soft, faded tones and his ability to create beauty and elegance within everyday, mundane subjects – just to name a couple. His brightly, yet accurately exposed images create an abundance of energy and life, a feature often absent in the [...]

Check out this platter of textured work by Lithuanian artist, Alina Orlova. I especially enjoy her experimental use of layers and mediums, combining the reality with fantasy. Her free and playful nature create a comforting nostalgic and homey feel, which together, displays a great level of honestly in the work.

I’m not one to normally post about other websites – if there’s one I like, I’ll immediately add it to the massive list of links found to the right of this window – but this one is just too good to ignore. M O O D – or Haw-lin, I’m not sure – is essentially [...]

Anthony Smith is a Vancouver-based photographer who recently graduated from Emily Carr – where I hope to be studying this time next year. Taking a balancing approach to photography, Anthony often shoots in a centralized manner, keeping the subjects relatively sparse and free of noise. The tonal range across his photos are quite pleasant and [...]
