Flight 815 Light by Cedric Ragot

The Flight 815 lamp – who’s curiously named after the Oceanic Flight 815 from ABC‘s hit television show Lost (which returns to television on January 21st with its fifth season) – is designed by Cedric Ragot. The lamps clever design resembles that of a ‘light painting‘, achieved through the use of a long shutter speed, while vigorously moving around in-frame with some sort of light source in hand…

The light emitted from the bulb doesn’t pass through the entire structure, but the area where the bulb sits, allows a substantial amount of light through, which creates a nicely lit dome, illuminating the interior workings of the lamp, thus creating an overall abstract lighting effect.
